Copepod

A descriptive monograph by Stacey S.
Dighton Middle School, Dighton, MA

Copepods are tiny crustaceans that live in vernal pools. Copepods are predatory animals but they also serve as a food source for other animals. They use their antennae as propellers and also to detect the vibrations of their prey. Their legs also filter small zooplankton from the water.
