Student and Adult Names on a Poster

Student Names
Unless you specify otherwise, student names on the poster are first name and last initial only. For multiple students with the same first name and last initial, you might add a second letter to the last name. You may use any format which conforms to your school policy.

If possible, please supply student names as a digital text file, particularly if names are not associated with art and are being placed in the border. If digital is not possible, include a typed list with the art when it is sent to us. The most common errors on posters are those associated with names. Misspellings and missing names are more likely if we have to type them ourselves.

Student names are placed either on the borders of the poster or with the individual panels. For a group project, placing names on the border is the preferred choice. This arrangement attests to the cooperative nature of the project. Names might also be placed in the title block for a group poster is preferred and there is space. For posters where a student's name is to be placed with the art on a panel, the name should be PRINTED clearly on the back of the art in PENCIL.

Adult Names
The names of teachers (classroom, art, library, volunteers) will usually be in the title block, if you want them on the poster at all. It's your poster, use which names you like. Please provide how these names are to be listed (whether full name, last name only, Mr., Ms., Dr., etc.) and title, if any.

Some classes have the adult names placed on the border with the student names. If you are using border names and would like the adult names in the border, please request it. Otherwise, adult names will be in the title block.
