Contents of the Title Block
The title block is an important element of your poster and we will strive to make it informative and attractive. There are many items people request to have in the title block and, as always, there is a limited amount of space. These are the standard items and some options.

Usually in the Title Block

Poster TitlePlease provide a title for your poster. If you are not sure but have some ideas, let us know and we will help you. A brief title is better than a long one.

GradeIf you have a preference as to how to list this, let us know. Otherwise, we'll just make it work.

School, Town, State, Poster Date
Please provide the appropriate name for the school and location.

Names of Teacher and Other Adults
Please provide the appropriate names that should go here. See NAMES for additional information.

Sometimes in the Title Block

Funding SourceThanking your funder by placing their name and logo on the poster is often a good idea and is sometimes required as a condition of the grant. You choose whether this goes in the title block or elsewhere. Provide appropriate information and the logo (or where to get it.) If your sponsor is a corporation, your school committee might have a policy to not "advertise" on school materials. Check.

Class Picture or Other ArtSome classes want a class photo or other art on the poster. We do not encourage art or photographs in the title block but will try to work with you to make the poster what you want. You may submit whatever is consistent with your school policy. If there is space, the photo will be included.

Be aware that a class photo taken by the "school photographer" is likely copyrighted and may not be used without permission. You will usually need to take your own photograph.

StatementSome classes include a summary statement about the project, the property studied, or why the students did such a project. If you want something such as this, keep it short.

Seldom in the Title Block

The poster is a class project. Including the name of the Principal or Superintendent is not necessary.
