| Bring your equipment and tools for exploring. These items should include: a net, hand lens, shallow containers (white trays), plastic baggies, waders (if you have them), and a field guide or journal to help you identify unfamiliar plants and animals. After you have used your net to capture animals or other specimens, dump the contents into your containers or baggies. Let the contents settle to the bottom, and look for movement. This will indicate where the animals that you captured are. Then use your field guide or journal to identify or record your findings. Always remember to return specimens to their original surroundings. |
